Hey Colin,

I'm behind on responding to blog comments, but thanks for yours. A couple of weeks in and I really am starting to get Twitter. I'm having a lot of fun with it, but still not convinced it will become a mass market communications tool. I may blog again shortly about my initial experiences.

I think your initial Twitter experience is a pretty common one Keith. Lots of users don't know what to make of it when they first get involved. It helps to follow a few dozen people you're familiar with right off the bat, and get a sense for how they're using the service.

It's also important for new users to shrug off the "why the hell would anybody care about this?" hesitation when it comes to posting. The informal nature of tweets (versus blog posts for example) allows for some personality to shine through, and most folks offer a combination of personal and professional updates.

As you said, Twitter definitely has evolved to become more of a "what am I thinking" space. Along those lines, I'm finding that many of the most interesting items I'm reading these days are coming through Twitter rather than my RSS reader.

As for Second Life...can't say I've bought the hype yet.
